Wisdom's Delight
Recently in a question-and-answer session at NorthStone Baptist Church, I was asked what my favorite food is. My wife, Britan, and the keynote speaker of our Outreach Conference, Dr. John Goetsch, were asked the same question. The question could have been asked this way: What food do you delight in? What food do you welcome the sight of, and what taste makes you glad? We can answer this question not only about people, but about attributes of God, like wisdom.

The LORD of Wisdom
Here’s a Proverbs fact for you: Chapter 16 uses the word LORD more than any other chapter of the book, except for one—the previous chapter. In Proverbs 16, the LORD is mentioned 10 times in 33 verses. This tells us something. While the work and wisdom of the Lord is obviously clear throughout the entire book, these two chapters together signal to us that we should pause to consider our highest Authority with extra care and attention.
