Learning From Creation
Creation has a way of slowing a man down long enough for him to notice what has always been true. This truth is not the loud message the world repeats—about achievement, comfort, or control—but the quieter truth written into stone, water, and sky. Scripture says, “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork” (Ps. 19:1). That declaration does not require interpretation. It requires only that a man step outside and pay attention.

God the I AM
When Moses turned aside to look at the burning bush, he was living in a period of divine silence. Scripture’s last recorded words from God were His direction to Jacob to reunite with Joseph in Egypt (Gen. 46). Two generations previously, God told Abraham how long that period of silence would be: “Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years” (Gen. 15:13).

Time Waits for No One
Thousands of years ago, “in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” (Genesis 1:1). In the first two days of time, the Lord set Earth into motion and crafted its self-maintaining system of weather patterns. He perfectly designed and refined the rotation of the Earth and its circuit around the sun to establish regular days, nights, and seasons.
