Some people believe that Jesus came into the world primarily for social reasons. They believe that He came to feed the poor, and heal the sick. While He certainly did those things, the primary reason Jesus came into the world was not social at all, but it was spiritual.
Luke 19:10 explains that Jesus came “to seek and to save that which was lost.“
Mark 10:45 declares that he came “to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Spiritually speaking, we all have a sin problem. God gave His only begotten son to die in your place, and in mine, to make atonement for our sin.
Jesus came as a medicinal healing balm for a sin-sick world. If you’ve been saved, rejoice!
Whatever else is going on in your life right now, you have something major for which to be thankful; your salvation!
Why did Jesus come to the earth? He came for you.
