Physically speaking there are four principal blood types: type A, type B, type AB, and type O.
In case of a physical emergency, it can be helpful if you know your blood type.
However, in case of the spiritual emergency known as sin, death, and hell it is eternally important that you know your spiritual blood type.
The hymn writer famously asked, “What can wash away my sins?” The answer, “Nothing but the blood of Jesus.” Jesus’ blood is an atoning blood; an incorruptible blood. It is a precious blood.
It’s the only blood that God the Father accepts as a sufficient payment for our sin emergency.
So, are you covered by the blood of Jesus? If not, the Bible says that today is the day of salvation. Call upon Christ today!
If you've already been saved, REJOICE in the thought the He "purchased you with His blood"! Take time to invite someone else to be your "blood brother." Invite them to join you in the family of God!
If you witness to them, and they trust Christ savingly, they will enjoy the eternal benefits of having the same spiritual blood type as you, dear Christian!
The hymn writer said,
"I'm so glad I'm a part
Of the family of God-
I've been washed in the fountain,
Cleansed by His blood!
Joint heirs with Jesus
As we travel this sod,
For I'm part of the family,
The family of God."
